Open Space Technology

Open Space as a meeting methodology opens possibilities for effective collaboration at a high level, life-long learning, the utilization of group intelligence and creative problem solving. Harrison Owen got the idea to Open Space in 1983, after he had prepared and facilitated a large international conference. The feedbacks were no surprise: The conference was good, but the coffee-breaks had have the highest value for the participants. After a study and reflection about the energy of coffee-breaks, Owen decided to create a conference format that transferred the dynamics of coffee-breaks and their underlying principles in the the core of the conference.
